Skate Park



The Skate Park has been completely rebuilt and is equipped with many amenities a skateboarder and the rest of the community will surely appreciate. Located at the Barber Street Sports Complex (1121 Barber Street), the Skate Park is a great enhancement to this complex. The park has concrete features including three ramps, a jersey barrier, boxes and the entire skating floor.

Gifford Aquatic Center



The Gifford Aquatic Center is a family oriented public swimming pool centrally located south of 49th St. The facility features a heated zero depth pool, 5 lanes for lap swimming, and splash/play deck. Additionally, the facility houses a party/meeting room that can be rented by the hour. Recreation programs are now available year round at the Gifford Aquatic Center through a grant from the Florida Blue Foundation. See page 12 for more information.

Vero Beach would not be the same without its iconic beaches. All 26 miles of Indian River County's coastline are open to the public. Across Vero Beach there 10 public beach access points all of which provide free parking. Three of which provide city lifeguard protection. Our beaches are also world famous for the thousands of Sea Turtle nests which are built each year in the sand dunes. Vero Beach is also home to numerous Tennis clubs and facilities. Vero Beach is unique in that it offers so many free to the public courts such as The Riverside Tennis Complex. The complex is comprised of eight courts, two indoor squash courts, a pro shop, and an outdoor handball court and features numerous seasonal leagues open to all. Round Island Park



This county owned, free to the public park provides residents with access to the Indian River Lagoon and to the Atlantic Ocean. The Indian River Lagoon side of the park is frequented by nature enthusiasts who love spotting the very common West Indian Manatees who flock to the park as it is sheltered from the remainder of the lagoon. You will see many Kayakers and boaters at the park and it is a great place to bird watch or go for a family hike as it has many miles of nature trails as well as an observation tower.

Pocahontas Park



Located in the heart of downtown Vero Beach, Pocahontas Park is a staple of many young families in Vero Beach. With its horse monument and large playgorund children love playing at the park. The park also provides plenty of shade and benches for parents to enjoy. In addition to the playground the park is also home to pickleball, tennis, and shuffleboard courts.

North County Aquatic Center



The North County Aquatic Center is located in Sebastian off of CR 512 approximately 2 miles east of I95. The facility is home to a competition pool, diving well, and an activity pool. The competition pool features 18 lanes at 25 yards for lap swimming and is handicap accessible. The diving well is equipped with one-meter and three-meter diving boards. The activity pool offers a variety of amenities including slides, bubbles, and a water play structure. The activity pool has zero-depth entry to accommodate all ages and abilities.

Intergenerational Recreation Center



The Indian River County Intergenerational Recreation Center, or iG Center, is Indian River County's response to the growing demand for an indoor event venue and recreation facility. The state of the art facility was constructed in 2016 and accommodates a variety of events both large and small. The iG Center Event Venue features a 13,425 square foot event hall/gymnasium that can accommodate up to 550 guests, a media room, several multi-use rooms, courtyard, and an outdoor veranda. Historic Jungle Trail



The historic Jungle Trail, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally a sandy road built in the 1920s for the citrus growers on the barrier island (called Orchard Island). The trail passes through hammocks of palms and other coastal wetland species, as well as gated communities, spectacular homes and the shores of Indian River Lagoon.

Indian Hills Golf Course


Indian Hills Golf Course has been a cornerstone of Fort Pierce since 1942. The City acquired the course in 2002 and has been continually striving to improve both customer service and course conditions. In that spirit, the city retained Architect Ward Northrup to design an entirely new 18-hole layout on the existing grounds.
