For years, Muster Saturday at the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum was built around one moment. The 5K ran early, and late morning drew everyone to the live demonstration. On Saturday, November 7, that moment is gone. The museum has replaced the single tactical demonstration with what it calls the Muster Legacy Compound, a run of activities from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If you live a few minutes up North A1A, you no longer plan the day around one time slot. Arrive at 9 or at 2 and the compound is open either way.
The museum's November 2024 recap describes the main event beginning at 11:00 AM at Pepper Park, with Navy SEALs demonstrating high-impact maneuvers and tactical skills. It names working dogs, a helicopter extraction and explosions as the highlights. In 2025, the museum's schedule again put the 5K at 8:00 AM and the official Muster ceremony at 11:00 AM. The 40th Muster followed keynote remarks with a tactical timeline of gear, vehicles and aircraft from World War II to the present.
Both years worked like a show. There was a start time, something happening out front, and an audience watching it. TCPalm's photo gallery from the 2025 event shows crowds lined up to watch.
The museum's September newsletter describes the change in its own words:
"Rather than presenting a singular tactical demonstration, Muster 41 will introduce the Muster Legacy Compound, offering ongoing activities and experiences from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM."
That line comes from the September 2026 SITREP. The same newsletter lists what the compound holds. The biggest draw for anyone who has been to the museum before is military vehicles and equipment from the collection that the museum says are not regularly available for public viewing. The Seawolves helicopter appears as a static display rather than as part of an extraction.
The rest of the compound includes:
The museum says the outdoor event is free, and museum admission is discounted all day. The museum hasn't announced an operational reason for the change. It describes the new format as giving guests "more ways to experience it throughout the day."
A few fixed times remain. Plan around them and leave the rest of the day open. Here is the museum's published Muster schedule for Saturday, November 7:
The schedule splits the day in two. Mornings belong to the fitness course and the museum itself at the discounted rate. From noon the full festival is running, including the speakers and the K9 Project dogs. If you mainly want to tour the galleries, go early. If you want the crowd, the dogs and the food, go after noon and stay for the 4:00 PM drawing.
The race starts and finishes on the museum's north lawn, near the Mark V Special Operations Craft. The course is a 3.1-mile out-and-back on the beach. The museum notes that runners and walkers cover the same Fort Pierce beaches where the first Navy Frogmen trained during World War II.
Registration on the Muster 5K page costs:
| Registration window | Fee |
|---|---|
| Standard, through Friday, November 6 | $35 |
| Race day, Saturday, November 7 | $40 |
| Active-duty military and first responders, with ID | $25 |
The guaranteed race shirt was tied to registering by Wednesday, October 14, so that date has passed. Packet pickup runs Friday, November 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
The museum sits at 3300 North Highway A1A. On Saturday, its parking lot is closed. Follow the museum's instructions:
Friday is the smaller, more local half of the weekend. The museum holds its Annual Membership Meeting at 2:00 PM. A live DJ plays from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, and the Membership Dinner starts at 6:00 PM.
The dinner is open to the public, but tickets are limited. Nonmembers pay $30 each, and the museum strongly encourages buying online before October 30. Any remaining tickets are sold first come, first served starting at 5:30 PM Friday. Members eat at no charge. An Annual Membership covers the member plus one guest, a Family Membership covers the member plus three, and additional guests are $30 each. Tickets are on the museum's dinner page.
The bars at both the dinner and Saturday's event come from Little Jim, at 601 N Causeway. So the island's own waterfront spot is pouring at the island's biggest weekend.
The 2026 Muster celebrates America's 250th anniversary and honors Andy "The Legend" Brady. Andrew Brady was a museum ambassador for many years. He was remembered as a familiar, welcoming face to visitors and veterans. The museum credits him with 15 years there, and he personally showed visiting groups around. He died on May 30, 2026.
Brady's work was meeting people face to face, one group at a time. The new format puts that kind of contact at the center of the day: veterans to talk with, organizations to visit and a collection to walk through.
The K9 Project doesn't leave with the Muster crowds. The museum's events calendar lists noon Dogs of the K9 Project programs on November 18 and December 2. That's a quieter chance to see the dogs that work the crowd on Muster Saturday.
Closer to the bridge, St. Lucie County lists North Causeway Park, at 500 N. Causeway, as closed for major renovations, with reopening expected in November 2026. The county's closures page lists the planned upgrades. They include an expanded ADA-accessible boat ramp and parking, new restrooms, pavilions, picnic tables, a kayak and canoe launch, lighting, and stormwater and utility work. November is an estimate, so check the county page before you load the kayak.
